Nicole is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the State of Louisiana. Nicole earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996 from Southeastern Louisiana University and worked 23 years in the healthcare industry as a Registered Nurse. Nicole earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Colorado Christian University in 2018. Nicole has experience with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. There is a variety of areas that she has experience with including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life-transitions, and self-esteem. Nicole has also completed training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. Nicole’s approach is grounded in establishing a therapeutic relationship with her client. She believes that success in therapy is centered around the counselor client relationship. Nicole’s desire is to walk alongside her clients as they search for meaning, hope and joy that gets overshadowed by life’s difficult times. Throughout the process she strives to maintain a genuine and authentic connection with her clients. As each client is unique, Nicole adapts her therapeutic approach for each client. Some of her therapeutic models can be found below. Nicole is a Christian but honors and respects the values and beliefs of everyone. She does not impose her views on others and offers them a safe place in expressing their views. When not working Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, who she loves dearly, including her mini-Australian shepherd fur baby who rules the house! She is also known around the office for her love of coffee.
